Bio

Nick Geshwiler is an artist born in Edina, Minnesota. His work focuses on the tropes of the grotesque, surreal, and the macabre. Having spent most of his life in Florida, he graduated from Florida State University in 2016 with a BFA degree in Studio Art. He experiments with many different techniques and mediums to achieve the desired result. Nick enjoys working in a thick impasto style to create abstract paintings with a deep psychological impact. His desire to investigate the grotesque in his work stems from his lifelong interest in strange animals, horror films, and the surreal. He hopes to convey the grotesque in a way that reveals something deeper about ourselves and the world around us.
